The appearance of the toy.
Like today, one of the earliest toys for a child in ancient times was a rattle. In ancient Greece and Rome, rattles were given to a newborn. The rattle also had a different meaning. It was believed that rattles with their noise deflect evil spirits, and thereby protect the child. The rattles had a different appearance: rattles, cretala, sistra.
The earliest toys of ancient Egypt known to us are wooden cows, dating back to the middle of the third millennium BC.
One of the oldest toys is a doll. The first Egyptian dolls had real hair, their arms and legs were movable. Dolls were made of various materials - wood, wax, clay and then brightly colored. Ancient rituals were associated with dolls. For example, in Greece, when girls came of age, it was customary to sacrifice childhood toys to the gods. On the eve of the wedding, the girls, as a ceremony of initiation into adulthood, brought their toys to the temple.
Toy development.
Over time, the doll has changed, taking on new forms. For example, the Trojan War, dated XIII-XII centuries. BC e., left its mark on toys. The favorite toy of Greek children was a Trojan horse, inside which there were figures of soldiers.
Since ancient times, the doll has been a traditional toy of the Slavic peoples. Rag dolls were very common. Moreover, not only girls, but also boys up to 7-8 years old played with such dolls. Until the beginning of the twentieth century, toys were used to call guardian angels and good spirits to a child. For babies, dolls were made by mothers and grandmothers. When the kids grew up, they themselves began to sew them. In the games, children learned the art of needlework, the skill of sewing, embroidering, and developing creativity. In Russian religion, the doll was often endowed with the magical power of fertility. In the wedding ceremony, it was presented to the bride as a happy symbol of procreation. Over time, the doll has changed, improved and turned into a dazzling porcelain or plastic beauty.
Gradually, the toys became more and more diverse - the kids played not only with traditional dolls, but also with various nesting dolls, glove dolls, figures of animals and birds, cubes, wooden cars and boats. In the 19th century, the world of toys was supplemented by models of buildings, houses for dolls and painted soldiers. At the beginning of the 20th century, with the achievements of mankind, wooden trains and cars became a hit of sales.
At the same time, wooden figurines were made in the widest range: horses, lambs, goats, birds, lions, bears and other animals, as well as wells, houses, huts, gazebos.
Second hand toys today.
The prototypes of modern soft toys or their images were found on the excavations of Pompeii in Italy. Various toys in the form of animals and birds have been found on the territory of our country. A large number of ancient toys are found in China. At various times, straw, sawdust, shavings, cotton wool, cotton fibers, etc. were used for stuffing. Since the end of the twentieth century, high-tech materials have been used: synthetic winterizer, synthetic granules, etc.
The industrial history of soft toys began in the 70s of the 19th century in Germany. It was during these years in Europe that the tradition of selling used things, which today we call second hand, arose. A resident of the German city of Gingen, Margaret Steiff, who has been confined to a wheelchair since childhood, sewed several funny animals as a Christmas present for her nephews. The toys were such a success with neighbors that a flurry of orders literally fell on Margaret. In 1901, Margaret patented her teddy bear, which rested on all four paws. A year later, the first teddy bear, so beloved all over the world, appeared, which today is the mascot of the SRS Company - the largest direct supplier of second hand wholesale to Ukraine.
In the modern world, the toy has not lost its purpose. It helps the child to learn about the world around him and teaches him to meaningful activity, the development of thinking, motor skills, memory, speech. It's hard to imagine, but some toys completely imitate pets.
Our company offers a wide range of second-hand children's toys in bulk - soft and plastic and even wooden, which are becoming more and more popular. Modern toys presented in our second-hand wholesale warehouses simply amaze with their diversity: radio-controlled toys, educational toys, sets of games for creativity, interactive toys. One thing remains unchanged - the kindness and tenderness that a toy brings to each child, the memory of which will remain for life.
