Slippers. Types of indoor slippers. />

Slippers are a fairly common type of footwear. And if earlier they belonged, rather, to the "unisex" product, now manufacturers produce many varieties of slippers, both for men and women. Children's slippers are also very popular.

Kind of slippers:

Open flip-flops -  are the most common type of indoor slippers. Their format is always the same, the only difference is in color and decor. They consist of a dense sole (rubber, polyurethane) and a fabric part that covers the upper part of the foot. The main advantage is that they are very easy to take off and put on.

Closed slippers - are a kind of flip-flops, they only have a closed toe and a heel counter. They are made mainly of durable felt or wool. Ideal for the cold season.

Boots - have the "appearance" of boots, but much more weightless and more comfortable, because made of lighter materials (knitwear, wool, velor). Most boots have an elastic rubber sole. There are models for the summer and winter seasons.

Uggs - unlike the warm winter shoes of the well-known UGG brand, indoor uggs are lighter, brighter, but invariably finished with sheepskin. In shape, they are both in the form of cropped boots, and in the form of slippers without backdrops.

3D slippers - home shoes in the shape of animals, toys, cars, fairy tale heroes. Bulky and at the same time comfortable indoor shoes, which were originally intended for children, eventually won the hearts of adults as well.

Moccasins - have a hard sole, and a soft synthetic material is used for the upper. They gained their popularity for the high level of leg comfort in the cold season.

Booties (slippers-socks) - in appearance they resemble socks only several times thicker than ordinary knitwear. The sole of the booties is a thin leather, suede or denser knit using silicone thread.

How do I clean my home shoes?

Household slippers are made from different materials, so shoe cleaning varies significantly depending on the composition. Cotton products can be washed in a washing machine, suede products can be gently cleaned with a brush, leather products must be treated with special products. Proper cleaning prolongs the life of your slippers, so be sure to pay attention to the material of the products:

Cotton slippers

These slippers can be washed both in the washing machine and by hand washing, but you need to adhere to several recommendations. Washing in hot water can change the size, so 40 degrees is considered the acceptable temperature. In this way, deformations can be avoided.

Washing machine: To avoid changing the shape of the slippers, you must wash them on a delicate cycle. To maintain the attractive appearance of the shoe, it must be dried at room temperature. You can also dry the slippers in the washing machine, but the temperature should not be too high (30-40 degrees).

Hand wash: dissolve powder for hand wash in warm water; wet the slippers and rub the dirty areas; leave the slippers in soapy water for 10 minutes; rinse your shoes in warm water. It is not recommended to wring out the slippers; use a towel to remove excess moisture. Blow dry at low temperature or leave to dry at room temperature.

Suede slippers

Unlike cotton slippers, it is strictly forbidden to soak or machine wash suede slippers. To clean suede, use a dry cloth, a special brush and products with a gentle composition. Use a soft towel to remove excess moisture.

The inside of the slippers can be cleaned with baby wipes.

You can clean the inside of the slippers with wet baby wipes. They contain a minimum amount of moisture, and the components of the cleaning agent are safe for suede.

You can also use a soft cloth with a few drops of baby shampoo for cleaning. Remove residual soap solution with a damp towel.

Dry suede slippers at room temperature away from radiators and sunlight.

Leather slippers

To clean natural leather slippers, special shoe care products are used. Soap, conditioner and other products should be designed for the care of leather products. After cleaning, polish the surface with a soft cotton cloth.

Use conditioner to keep your skin soft. Crumpled newspapers and shoe fresheners can help remove unpleasant odors. Dry your slippers at room temperature, away from batteries and the sun.
